2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Reserve
The Alexander Valley is a California American Viticultural Area (AVA) just north of Healdsburg, in Sonoma County. It is the largest and most fully-planted wine region in Sonoma. Highway 101 runs through the valley, and the Russian River flows down the valley, surrounded by vineyards on both sides. From higher elevations of the valley rim, there are incredible views and growing areas that are perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon and many other rich grape varietals. The region was named for Cyrus Alexander, owner of part of the Rancho Sotoyome Mexican land grant in 1847. The Alexander Valley AVA status was granted to the region in 1984 and is home to many noted wineries such as Jordan, Silver Oak, White Oak, and Clos du Bois.
